INDIA GORDON

Riding has been at the center of my life for the past five years, shaping not only my skills in the arena but also my character outside of it. I’m a 16-year-old junior at Pinnacle High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, and I’ve been showing for four years in IEA and Horsemanship under the guidance of my trainer, Jessica Bein.

I thrive in team environments and believe deeply in the value of hard work, adaptability, and leadership. My years in IEA have given me the opportunity to ride everything from seasoned show horses to green, young ones—a challenge I’ve grown to love. Along the way, I’ve earned honors such as 2024–25 National Team Horsemanship Qualifier and Region 8 High Point Horsemanship Rider. I take pride in stepping into leadership roles, whether it’s helping run shows, keeping events organized, or supporting my teammates.

My favorite part of riding is showing. I love setting goals, putting in the daily work, and feeling that effort come together in the pen. I currently compete on a 15-year-old grey Arabian mare who has taught me patience, consistency, and how to stay calm under pressure—skills that carry over into every part of my life.

Outside of the barn, I’ve worked as a junior camp counselor at the Boys & Girls Club, mentoring children ages 5–11 and developing strong communication skills through programs like Keystone and Torch Club. These experiences have made me a more empathetic, adaptable, and confident leader.

Looking ahead, my goal is to ride for a collegiate equestrian team while pursuing a degree in Psychology, with aspirations of becoming a forensic psychiatrist. I want to be part of a program where I can grow as both a rider and a student, contributing to the success of my team while continuing to challenge myself.
